Short answer: Plan an ordinary Navratri dinner at EMC Kitchen within its published Tuesday-to-Sunday, 4 PM-to-11 PM schedule. Monday, 19 October 2026 is a regular closure. Dussehra falls on Tuesday, 20 October; confirm any festival arrangements directly before visiting. The regular ramen menu should not be treated as a confirmed fasting menu.
It is easy to settle on a dish before checking the date. During Navratri, that can leave a group discussing bowls and starters for an evening when the restaurant is normally closed. For this October catch-up edition, the immediate practical detail is the Monday closure—not a new festival offer.
This article is for someone planning an ordinary meal around the season. It is not a guide to deciding what a person should eat during a fast, and it does not advertise a special Navratri menu.
The October dates that affect the plan
The 2026 India calendar lists the beginning of Sharad Navratri on Sunday, 11 October and Dussehra on Tuesday, 20 October. Within that period, 12 and 19 October are Mondays. EMC Kitchen’s published weekly schedule says Monday is closed.
That means a plan for the evening of 19 October needs a different date unless the restaurant itself has explicitly confirmed a change. Do not assume that a major festival overrides the weekly closure. Equally, do not assume that Tuesday, 20 October will have extended hours because it is Dussehra. The regular schedule is a starting point; an announced special schedule would need direct confirmation.
For a group message, write the full date and day, not just “tonight” or “after garba.” Those phrases can be read at different times and do not tell anyone when the kitchen would be expected to serve.
Decide whether you are eating before or after the activity
If you are considering dinner before an activity, work backwards from your own departure time. Allow room in the plan for ordering, eating and the journey you need to make. This article cannot give a dependable preparation time, a traffic estimate or a promise that a group will be seated immediately.
If the meal is intended for afterwards, compare the actual expected arrival time with the 11 PM published closing time. An activity ending late does not establish that the restaurant will still be serving when you arrive. Ask the team about the proposed arrival and ordering time; do not treat closing time as a guaranteed last-order time.
For the last Navratri Monday in 2026, the weekly closure takes priority over that before-or-after calculation. Choosing a ramen first will not solve a date that does not fit the regular opening schedule.
For an ordinary meal, compare the bowls by their stated ingredients
- Korean Ramen: Spicy ramen noodles topped with vegetables, kimchi and cheese.
- Japanese Miso Ramen: Miso-flavoured broth combined with paneer, vegetables and noodles.
- Ultimate Vegan Bowl: A creamy vegan bowl full of vegetables and noodles with a touch of coconut milk.
These descriptions give three different directions. Korean Ramen names kimchi and cheese with spicy noodles. Japanese Miso Ramen names a miso-flavoured broth, paneer, vegetables and noodles. Ultimate Vegan Bowl names vegetables, noodles and a touch of coconut milk in a creamy bowl.
Those are ingredient and format distinctions, not a ranking. A person who wants kimchi and cheese has a different starting point from someone interested in a coconut-milk description. The word “vegan” in an item name is also not a statement about fasting suitability or every individual dietary restriction.
If one person wants a bowl and another wants something to share, keep the main decision separate from the table order. For the soup formats that explicitly include dumplings, see the Jhol, Thukpa and Dumpling Soup comparison. It explains a different menu decision rather than repeating a festival checklist.
Keep fasting, Jain requests and ordinary dining separate
Ask each guest what they actually need. Someone may be eating an ordinary vegetarian meal, following a personal fasting practice, making a Jain request or avoiding a specific ingredient. These are not interchangeable instructions, and agreement on a restaurant does not mean agreement on every dish.
For a strict requirement, name the proposed item and the exact ingredients or preparation to avoid. The question may need to cover a sauce, paste, broth, garnish or filling—not just the visible vegetables. Do not order first and ask whether the dish fits afterwards.
If the kitchen cannot confirm a suitable preparation, treat that as a reason to revise the meal plan. The festival context is not evidence that a suitable alternative is available. The component-by-component dietary checklist can help make the enquiry specific.
A message that gets to the useful questions
Try: “We are considering an ordinary dinner on [date and day], arriving around [time]. Could you confirm whether you are serving then? We are interested in [named dishes]. One guest needs [precise requirement]. Please confirm the relevant ingredients and preparation before we decide.”
That is enough to start a clear conversation. It does not assume a table, a special menu, a dietary adaptation or a particular service time. Once the kitchen replies, send the confirmed details to the group rather than forwarding an earlier tentative plan.
Navratri dining questions
Is EMC Kitchen normally open on Monday, 19 October 2026?
No. Monday is closed under the published regular schedule. Any exception would need direct confirmation from the restaurant.
Is Dussehra on 19 or 20 October in 2026?
The cited India holiday calendar lists Dussehra on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. That date does not by itself confirm special restaurant hours.
Can I order the regular ramen during a fast?
This guide cannot establish suitability for your practice. State your exact requirements and ask the kitchen about the specific preparation before ordering.
Does an 11 PM closing time mean I can place an order at 11 PM?
Do not assume so. Ask about your intended arrival and ordering time directly. Published closing hours are not a separate last-order commitment.
